Q. What if I purchase QUALCOMM shares after September 11, 1998 (the "Record Date") and before September 24, 1998 (the "Ex-Dividend Date")?
A. If you purchase QUALCOMM shares after September 11, 1998 and before September 24, 1998 you are considered the "beneficial owner" and you will automatically receive on the Distribution Date one (1) Leap Wireless share for every four (4) QUALCOMM shares that you have purchased. Your broker can explain this further and assist you with the transaction.

Q. What if I sell QUALCOMM shares after September 11, 1998 (the "Record Date") and before September 24, 1998 (the "Ex-Dividend Date")?
A. If you were the owner of those QUALCOMM shares as of September 11, 1998 (the Record Date), you are considered the "record owner" and are entitled to receive one (1) Leap Wireless share for every four (4) QUALCOMM shares that you own. However, if you sell those shares after September 11, 1998 and before September 24, 1998 you are no longer entitled to keep the Leap Wireless shares. However, since you were the "record owner" of the QUALCOMM shares on September 11, 1998, you may still receive these Leap Wireless shares. In order to deliver the Leap Wireless shares to their rightful owner, you may receive a "due bill" for the Leap Wireless shares. This "due bill," which is often incorporated in the broker's confirmation of sale notice, states that, upon receipt of Leap Wireless shares, you must deliver them to the broker who conducted the sale so they can be forwarded to the buyer. Your broker can explain and assist you with the transaction.
