<<she in no way could condone his actions but the fact that he fights for important human causes in a fiscally responsible way enables her to believe his goals as Pres. far outweigh his sexual misconduct.>>

I can understand her point of view, but it begs the question - can he still function as President with his current baggage? Even if his goals are lofty, if he has lost the "moral authority" to lead, he will no longer be able to properly pursue those goals. He will also increase the risk of foreign entanglements as world leaders jockey to fill the void.

Please note that I am not saying he has lost that moral authority, however that is really the issue here - not HOW he lost it, but IF he lost it. If he hasn't, he should not be removed from office. If he has broken a law, a sealed indictment should be made, or whatever has to be done so that he can be brought to justice after his term. If he has lost the moral authority, he should resign.

<<Thanks for the calm discussion -- it's been a pleasure>>

Believe me, the pleasure is mine. I enjoy a good debate. There have been too many times where I "Knew" I was right, and had to backtrack and apologize later. I much prefer to discuss and debate - other people have amazingly valid points of view, and it never hurts to pay serious attention to them.
