Youlu, please, in the future, be more responsible. The stock is under pressure and some people look to these threads for quality information. You don't guess on such a fundamental point. And if it is a guess, say so in your remarks. The fact is PMC is not experiencing ANY market erosion in the OC-3 and OC-12 ATM PHY layer market. Their S/UNI products are designed into virtually (obvious by mkt shre) every ATM switch on the market. There is no reason for the vendor to switch out. PMC keeps the price competitive as additional insurance. With almost 1,000 design wins in the past year, PMC has insured a steady stream (flood) of revenue for years to come. And of course, at 24% of sales, their R&D effort is anything but slowing down. I believe the Company is absolutely stunned by the stock price decline. They have seen NO change in business and continue to be very bullish for the future. They are expanding their market coverage in virtually all segments, and as a founding member of the SATURN group, they are assured of participating in multiple product roadmaps. Lets also not forget the incredible opportunities in the silicon cycle. The evolution from ASICs to ASSPs is only beginning, and LOTS of companies in every industry segment, at every level of the board, will be making LOTS of money for many many years. PMC has been under pressure over the last two months due to two reasons - R&D and Monty comment. R&D commitment is fine and I'm glad it shook the mo guys out. Monty clarified the statement the same day strongly supporting the Company. Since there has been no Company info that has changed guidance this week and no analyst reports (except for today's H&Q reit Strong Buy), I think (and this IS speculation)PMC has been under pressure this week for two reasons - 1. Small build-up and then sell-off before and after the DLJ conference in NYC. When PMC provided no new guidance and there wasn't a pop, traders ran for the hills. 2. Many large tech funds are dumping stocks to meet redemptions. They have had a nice gain in PMC and probably decided to dump it now, book a profit, and raise cash. Thats all for now. Bulldozer
