If the Street thinks demand is picking up, they're talking to different people than I am. For wafer processing equipment, people are telling me my earlier forecast of mid-99 is optimistic. At least some of the fab closures we've seen are apparently due to larger than expected capacity gains from shrinks, which means 0.25 micron is reaching good yield faster than expected. That may be good news for mask-related companies, but bad news for everyone else. Katherine
