To all: I don't know if NT IR reps read this thread, so talking to them through this forum may be an exercise in futility. If you want to send them a direct message, the e-mail is: bobkaye@nortel.com

I would suggest that any requests to him be made in a civil manner and with specific suggestions or comments. Save any ranting and raving for the "threads", if you wish to elicit a response vs. merely venting.

As to the theory that the end of day activity was due to margin call liquidations, I have trouble believing that generated 2MM shares in a half hour. I saw trades as large as 125k shares; no brokerage is going to do an involuntary liquidation of an account that large the first time it goes illiquid without asking the account if they wish to invest more capital. I have had margin calls before when stocks have taken hard falls(can you spell "BAY"?), but never have been liquidated on the day of the fall. I am not in the brokerage business, so this is just one man's opinion, based on what I believe to be a rational assessment of the facts available. Maybe someone on this thread who is a broker can answer this question.

In the meantime, can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring. Anyone care to tell me the last time(if ever) NT GAINED 6 pts in one day? Monday should be a relatively light trading day(which could add to volatility) due to the Jewish New Year. I could use a rest.
