Tobias - Re: " Is there a good reason why intel should not say...$1 per share."

You are darn right there is.

How about:

1. Intel will be buying MANY Wafer Stepper/Scanners for 0.18 micron production that probably cost $5 million to $7 million a piece. They may need a hundred of these in a year or two to put into Fab 18 and some of the older fabs.

2. Intel will be buying more Ion Implanters to implement exotic implant steps that produce superb transistor characteristics for high speed CPUs and Chip Sets. These probably run $3 to $5 million a copy.

3. Intel could use that money for strategic acquisitions to help accelerate PC and Server usage.

4. You can fill in the answer to the next 50 good reasons.
