To Doug: Thanks for info on possible Brazil rescue. Agree that Brazil seems to be key prob to deal with right now. Let's hope goes well. If so, will be good for the Q. Chaz PS Note that the "consensus" re Japan banking appears to have been reached. Also good for the Q.

I too am positive but not for the reasons you cite. The banks are acting out of desperation. They have no choice but to protect their huge exposure to Brazil and who knows they may succeed.

Probably a good thing that the banks who got themselves in this mess are going to have to sweat it out. They should pay and the taxpayer should not. The managments who gave these loans should be sued by their employersna and at a minimum their bonus's, options shares and retirement plans should be surrendered as some form of modest compensation for the damage they have done to everyone else in the economy.

What a state we are in. The countries that the Q has as main markets:-

Brazil, Japan, Russia, S. Korea. and then the G* explosion with no less than 122 satellites on board. This is the worst run of luck I have ever heard of. And to top it all there is no sign of the end of the daily world market drops. The Europeans are now droppping over 4% a day on at least a once a week basis and the other days droppping about 1.5% per day.

When will all this end?

Regards,

L

dougjn,
Do you think there might be any substance to rumors re Sony wanting to purchase the 51% (i think) of the hand set manufacturing division of the Q that they dont currently control?
