Mohan - Theer is a book by Prof. Ravi Batra (some univ. in the US) written in 1989 called " the coming depression of the 1990's"

His book was RIGHT ON TARGET" and every prediction was right. The book is based on a 60-year cycle theory by Prof. Sarkis from India .

One of the predictions was that India would become a world power by year 2005 and would, I think he said, surpass the US. I dont remember if he said in GROWTH or in income. I will need to re read that section.

But based on your post it does look like India will be one of the countires getting more and more patents and revenues from IT.

President delays trip to India and Pakistan
Mohan:

Clinton's visit to South Asia, due to take place in November, was postponed. The reason given is that not enough will be accomplished by such a trip. President will be meeting Nawaz Sharif next week at the United nations.
