Prudential lifts price target for Dell

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Dell Computer Corp.'s stock edged higher Friday morning after Prudential Securities upgraded its price targets for the Round Rock, Texas, computer maker.

Analyst Don Young, while noting that "the ideal conditions for direct PC manufacturers that existed in the first half of the year are over," said that he expects that "Dell's (DELL) strong growth rate will continue."

In a report to investors, Young raised his 12-month price target to $72 a share -- 46 times expected fiscal 2000 earnings per share of $1.55...............
