In reality, it is the person Al Gore appoints as his Vice President when he takes the Oath of Office as President. Al has strong friends in the Congress, and he will select a member of Congress that will result in almost immediate approval and designed to give him a better shot at the next election.

I wonder about your reality. I don't recall anything about this oath of office thing. Now that I think about it, it has to be wrong, as normally the V.P. would take office after an unexpected event. At any rate, his appointment is subject to Senate confirmation. With the games being played these days, I wouldn't count on much of anything there. Maybe there are enough sane Republicans not totally thrilled with the idea of President Newt. Then again, maybe not.

Cheers, Dan.
