Coug,
I'll defer to you , since you have a much longer experience using the NHB than I do . I know I like it and that's about it. It does not seem to be the same as a beta on a regular stock, from what I can see.

As far as being short next week - fundamentally, I see a lot of reasons to be long . I made a yearly plan for myself back in March - I studied thousands of charts , and planned out the year. according to my plan , I see it time to be long - briefly, for a period of 4 weeks . Mind you , I've been short the mkt via individual stocks since the second week of July - and been very happy with the results . At this point, I've become so comfortable being short, wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get long again . But I am now reaching the point where I see being long again as the way to go . Plus it ties in with my astro reports ! <gggg>
The problem with my overall market plan , is that it is not for short term (daily ) trading . for that I need other things. One thing I'm fairly certain of - there will be enough volatility for everyone to be happy ! We'll see how it goes next week ...

Bev

Do you use the beta index as a leading indicator or more for divergences versus the market?
Thanks.
Clay.
