I agree with you that the company (at least the top management; don't know about the employees) is fired up, and maybe I'm overanalyzing this, but I still think that avoiding an operating loss is an important psychological goal for the management. Especially since it looks like the numbers will be right around breakeven, and a penny or two could make a difference, I'm sure they'll try to stay out of negative-number territory.

I guess my point is that, saying the channel-reduction effort is complete (and it was a factor under their control to help boost earnings a bit), they're probably in a pretty comfortable position to meet or slightly exceed estimates. And I too am impressed with the forceful actions taken so far, and hoping their bets on the direction of technology are correct.

I find it interesting that I haven't seen any analyst comments yet since the CC; no doubt they're off crunching their spreadsheets and researching the opposition. But previously, downgrades seem to come pretty quickly after bad news, so I don't think we'll see those. I'm not counting on any upgrades anytime soon, but it would be a nice positive for a change.
