Phil, in the short term I'm bullish on oil prices. It is the opportune time for prices IMO. This time of the year homeowners are "locking in" their fuel oil prices for the heating season, without question it is in the interest to see prices rise now( and I believe the manipulation is under estimated). Combine that with the tropical depression sitting stationary in the Gulf, and many temporary shutdowns/evacuations on Gulf platforms. Then throw in hurricane Georges worry and IMO prices will rise. But then we should watch for the hedgemen/shorters shortly there after. DD
PS: on that note, since I don't burn oil or gas,it's off to the woodpile<g>.....We'll see what happens when the cold Winter winds start blowing down Wallstreet..or when Analysts realize, the worlds largest oil producer,Russia, can't afford the upkeep of their broken down energy infrastructure system, hurting the surrounding countries production as well..This weekends "Rags" ought to have many articles on the oil biz...
PS: great dictionary site for the spelling impaired like me..

Phil my EEK! regards Shell is that I bought 5 oils last week and was
applauding my "brilliant analysis"(LOL) and feeling smug and on first
checking what crude was doing saw it was doing very nicely, and then checked to see how much my oil stocks had gained only to see 4 were down---I spent several hours putting it together, and intraday charts bear me out---from reading other posts Joe K. and Maria B. before the bell were highlighting the Shell press release--with Joe pronouncing the price of oil will remain depressed for 3 years---the sell-off
all occured in the first hour---a lot of whom probably watch CNBC--
it is incredible the impact of the media---I do agree that Shell are themselves clueless regards the future price of oil and were using this to cover there own internal problems and give a reason for shutting down certain operations--still feeling O.K about this investment--but tempted to step out on a pop,if one occurs this week--
hoping the Shell brouhaha be dead news by Monday---T.S. Hermine now
off Lousiana and category 4 Hurricane Georges moving fast--plus
the Middle-East and La NiN^a,plus OPEC getting desperate---well we will see.Good Luck,Max
