In response to your second question, search for Hewlett's patent on a continuous leaching system - it is about 2 years old. I don't have it bookmarked any more or I would reference it for you. The patent is more complex than need be because it attempts to cover all possibilities - in actuality I believe it would be simpler, although I don't know whether MXAM is considering this system or a varient thereof. I only reference it to you as an example of a continuous leaching system, albeit just one on paper, not one in actual practice.

Continuous process versus batch would have small amounts of ore move through the leach quickly such that the total volume becomes large for the time of process. The actual leaching volume at any increment of time would be small. Let me try a simple example. I could make soda pop by taking a large high pressure container of water, add syrup, mix, and then charge the liquid with carbon dioxide. That would represent a batch process. You make one flavor of soda. A continuous process would be flowing carbon dioxide charged water through a mix valve as syrup is added, that's a continuous process. You can change the syrup flavor as needed. The continuous process simplifies the production and inventory requirements over batch, but requires excellent process control to insure quality. I'm not sure that Maxam will use a continuous process, but that's what I understand is the plan. Someone check with Runyon. If my understanding is correct, my statement about 20lb versus 500lb+ is accurate.
