Does anyone have thoughts on writing NOV 70 calls? Have recently gotten started in options and listen to the advice on this board regularly.
I like the Nov. strike date (after earnings) looking at 60's myself
waiting for the next leg down to buy though. Maybe after the fed does not cut interest rates Sept 29.

Fez... re: writing Nov70C (DLQKN)

I wrote these on 9/9.... but have some concerns that I might have to buy back because expiry is right around earnings time, and if DELL does really take off, they could turn into in-the-money calls for someone. If on the other hand the market holds DELL back, I'll be OK and they'll expire worthless. I'll have to keep a close eye on them.

my DLQKN btw are covered calls. I assumed you meant covered, and
J.P. seems to be assuming you asking about uncovered calls (which are always more risky).

re "writing NOV 70 calls"

No expert here. BUT my experience shows it is unwise to write DELL calls into an earnings month. You might want to write them, based on overall weak market outlook, but to be safe, be sure and cover by Halloween.
