I agree that price trend intersections almost always see large moves. As far as direction I am gonna take the fifth. I do not feel I have done enough research in strong downtrends (nor do I have the data to do so) to venture a reasonable assumption as to direction. I am going to rely on the triangle rules to give me direction. Break to the downside and lack of or a weak retest I go 50/50 shorts/cash. Break to the upside and a good retest and I am in 100% long equities. Still in the 60/40 camp equity/cash until the direction is given.
