To all on Ideas Thread: Just had a chat with Ike. He's had overwhelming calls on his private email for him to continue his posting. But the contrite attacks on this thread towards him have distracted from it's theme and has resulted in his temporary "vacation". He has suggested that if you have other non market opinions that you email his personal account and try to keep the focus to the theme of this thread: ============= Bri-- I am in Luassane Switzerland- I had a great month, nearly 11% on total portfolio-- it has been one of the best month even better than Oct since Volatility is the name of the game and this is not in short supply. I have access to SI but I just don't feel like participating. Too much of venom directed against me by people like Xia-- no sanity, Proton- nearly every day ritual of sarcasm- Boyle not in a very distant past..My father told me once 'man is known by kind of people who opposes him', I think my tragedy is that kind of people who oppose me are so shallow that in my opinion this whole exercise has been a failure..now answering these people who have nothing on line- or their only purpose is to create confusion on the thread is asking for trouble, tese guys need an answer from me that they will never get- I like to disagree with people but I also know that once you know someone well enough just don't get ever further involved. Imagine if these guys can short ASND a take over play --one can think how their frame of mind works? Since August I have traded more on short side very rarely a long trade 4 to 1 is the ratio, and I have been in and out but if I get involved with this minor squabbles it is never going to end.. so I think the best thing for me is to gracefully retire from this experiment which I think was a great success.I do think strongly on the other hand that this should continue as we have been to lay a good foundation of what is a global interactive community.. The other problem I have is that I really don't find anything of interest on other threads-- I rarely read other threads because reading these threads and listening to CNBC are two 'dont's and never' for a good trader- we 80% of the time are in the opposite trade of what is conventional trade on SI-- can you imagine that someone is running a long put poisition and his premium is cut to half - this is not my kind of trading- we need the levels every day to trade out of derivatives. I don't really care about these critcs but the problem is that time I give to 'idea' is my childrens time the arrangement is that what I write is like a read for their course material on International Economics-since they take economics they do visit 'Idea' regularly for info- they really don't like the cynicism and regular denunciation..to respect their insistance that there is no need of Idea in my life I decided to withdraw atleast this whole week. SI predominantly is a bears place as such a contrary opinion with my bias on bull side hurts the self styled gurus of doom who have been on the losing side of this battle since Oct-- Reproduction of Jerry Flower is a norm- it is sad to see that lock stock and barrel bear opinion is so much in currency.. I think that market will remain range bound but earnings I am not so pessimistic.. Close below 1000 is a bad sign but we can have a flase break-- however 910 on Oct can be great if we close below 1000-- PLEASE WRITE ME WHAT is your opinion? Should I finally say good bye or continue with this experience disregarding what is hapening around? Honestly my inclination is on the side of continuation! But I will certainly like to hear from you-- please do let me know? I repect your opinion ---Thanks
