I'm well aware that was Tripp's claim. It might even be true. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Pres. had anything to do with that. She also took wholly disproportionate and despicable action. Tripp's testimony might or might not have been persuasive without her illegal tapes. But she would hardly be facing any convincing case of perjury because of a conflict with Lewinsky. Rather, she was schooled by her literary agent Goldberg, as you well know. Who thought the twin aims of bringing down this President, and generating a convincing, and highly lucrative book deal, could be served by the illegal taping. Doug
