Toro, unless Dell which has been loyal to Intel gets better pricing from Intel on portable chips, Dell will either give away market share to Compaq or buy the AMD chips.

Hopefully, Intel will cut the portable chip prices to hold their share.

AMD-Problem for Dell,no don't think so.

Stock Bull:

Historically speaking AMD had production problems, yield problems and therefore had problem delivering the goods to customers on time.Besides they haven't made any money for god knows how long because they often sell their products below cost or at very thin margins to gain market share. Finally I think their management lacks many qualities that one sees in a well run company,I wouldn't lose any sleep over them.

PS:In some circles the CEO is known as a snake oil salesman.
