I would think a NYSE or AMEX traded closed-end fund would be okay, as they a really no different from Safeguard Scientifics, Thermo Electron, and their ilk. For that matter, WEBS and SPDR's should be okay too. None of them are really leverage plays.

However, although SFE and TME are "legitimate" companies, the closed end funds, WEBS and SPDRs are really mutual funds - if they are allowed, probably all domestic mutual funds should be allowed. THeir only distinguishing characteristic is the exchange on which they trade.

But, I'm not running the contest.
