hear hear tom!

i wanted to start a thread for all those people who DONT
cheat on their significant others, the normal work a day
people (like my self) who wont be polled because we have
caller id,are at work,or pickin up the kids, and dont live
in ny or la.this was to be the body of the thread:

Of course this discussion of basic morality
will be attended by those whose moral compass
has not been misdirected by Clinton, his Spin docs.,
or their party. The hope is to hear the voices of
decency who dont think whats going on is normal or
correct, unlike the Big Creep or his apologists.
IMO we are under represented in the mass media and
in the present political environment.
As one of "we the people" feel free to chime in if
you are:a debt slave, tax slave, busy raising a family,
work way to many hours, or any other reason you
couldnt be reached for those clinton supporter polls.
Where are we the people headed in this Great vessel
America !?????

Tom,

Although I do not think that the washing of dirty linen was necessary in this case, I agree with your response to BV overall. Nothing is more tiresome to me than the argument that we should worry about what the rest of the world thinks of us. There's no nation on earth that surpasses the United States in terms of racial justice and the overall decency of its people. That's not to say that we're perfect, just that the rest of the world is not better than or even equal to us.

As for the tape (just to answer the question of the thread), I think the biggest problem for Republicans is that it showed Clinton exercising his argumentative and rhetorical skills and it reminded people why they voted for him in the first place. This man is a consummate politician, perhaps the best we've had since FDR, even including Reagan.

Pat

Tom, that is a very interesting point of view, and a very refreshing one. Thank you.

There is every reason to be embarrassed. We are now pondering over such "weighty" questions as to whether the President touched the breasts of Monica Lewinsky directly, or if there was a layer of clothing between his skin and hers. And we don't want to be a laughing stock?! That's a tall order.

IMO, what the world finds funny is that if this society were really puritanical, with hardly a few percent of the people indulging in extra-marital affairs, then the present exercise of examining everything under the microscope is at least understandable, even if silly. But in a country where a good majority behaves otherwise, the whole exercise looks simply ridiculous.
