How times have changed (me?). Once someone mentioned the need for picture frames that would straighten themselve, and in less than 5 minutes I drew the circuit complete with the feed back op-amp part numbers and the mercury switch for the job. now I've witnessed this fantasy console and can't find much to add to the design :( So I say this, the rule of thumb is that whatever your design costs to make, you have to sell it at twice that price to be profitable. This takes care of all those "unforeseen" costs as well as the R&D costs. So if your parts cost $150, your retail should be $300 or better. Also, don't forget that to run the PC games, you need a bug ridden piece of code called Windows and that will add another $40 (min.) which will make the end product almost $100 more expensive. Of course given that it will crash too often, perhaps it is best to go a different route.
