Thomas, you know the shorts are getting desparate again when they start using the old "stuffing the channel" routine.

I would think being short from 6 to 21 would be punishment enough, but some people must enjoy that sort of thing. :-)

I suspect it is very difficult to manipulate top line numbers...sales slow down is a sure sign of difficult times to come...I suspect the top line growth for TLC will not only continue, but will give us all a pleasant surprise come this earnings season...I had to take profits on TLC when it was over $30, only because I bought a home, I have taken advantage of the recent opportunity to get back into TLC...I feel it is a gift horse and anyone who bought recently will have a "watermellon" smile come early '99...and the TLC shorts will wish they had never been born!!!

why should I have estimates?
all I'm saying is that expectations after the acquisitions were high,
and most of the analysts were forecasting high mktshare:

for instance:
saloman smith barney june 3/98 report stated with sofsource, the combined mktshare is 40%
while others like wasserstein, forecasted 46% after Brod!

meanwhile alex brown who's been pounding the table, forecasted
revenues of $210m for Q3 in their 7/24/98 report!

my point is the analysts &yourself have hyped expectations to such an extent that TLC had to execute perfectly....

it seems that it hasn't, and well you know how disappointments punish stocks...so Tom will TLC make $210m in revenue ?
