I am beginning to think the market thinks ASND will resist any buyout. This stock is definitely not trading like takeover bait.

I noticed that no one has commented on the recent "deals" Ascend has made, with ADI (for chips), with Alcatel (reselling), with Pirelli for DWDM. All these deals conflict with Lucent. Lucent makes communications chips, Lucent sells to telcos, and Lucent makes DWDM. Any thoughts why Ascend would be making these announcements on the eve of Lucent's Oct 1 date?
