I think several conditions must be met (supposing you have no domain server running):
1. the user on the client machine must have an account on the client machine
2. the 'logon to windows nt domain' must be disabled on the client machine
3. you must create a user account on your nt server with the same user name like the one on the client machine. I'm using the 'default password' here with all checkboxes in the 'user properties' panel unchecked except for the 'password never expires' one. No special priviliges necessary.

Works for me...I guess I haven't done anything else.

NT networking q: how get other machines to view main machine w/out a password?

Don't think you can if the NT machine is a server.

Why can't your wife login like the rest of humanity? or setup tweak UI to autologon a user that has been authenticated by the NT Server.

If you really don't want any security in NT, full auto logon is possible. Here it is from www.ntfaq.com
ntfaq.com
Works great, boots right up to the desktop without any logon screen.
I always do this at home.

Now if someone can solve a quirk I have noted with NT for a long time. NT will not "cache" or save a password for a website like Win95 or 98 will. For example when I come to SI I always have to reenter my name and password. With a 95 machine it was saved. Is there a way to do this? Am I just overlooking something simple? I am using IE 4.01.

BTW, ntfaq.com is a great website for solving the little issues with NT.

Good Luck
Dan
