Sun, they have patented the apparatus and the method. The method, however, seems to be the one that DX6 uses so for all practical purposes 3dfx has patented multitexturing. In that case they'd better get in bed with Gates and offer him a chair in the board so that Microsoft will not replace that method with something else in the next release of DxD. ST Eeek! the thought of owning shares in a company that Gates will have a say in is revolting. Still, piggy backing on top of Microsoft's monopoly makes business sense.
