Keith, being a long time follower of the war on Java, I'm quite interested in how this will play out on the antitrust front. I was always a bit confused how Microsoft's transparently subversive effort was supposed to take anyone in, in the broader development community anyway. At the back room contract arm-twisting level, it's another story of course.

It's not like Sun hasn't stumbled enough on Java, but from the trade press news anyway it still seems like the Microsoft "best of breed" Java efforts that the friends of Bill used to brag about all the time has been mostly ignored. The most confusing thing about the Sun/MSFT trial is all the secret contract stuff- what the heck is in those things anyway? Not that I've been following it closely. The timing is interesting, though, with Sun/MSFT winding up just as DOJ/MSFT starts. Do you know the Caldera/MSFT trial date offhand?

Cheers, Dan.
