IF the Repubs. win big in Nov. Which I'm not at all sure will be the case.

I dont believe they will win big in November. I thought they would before the Starr report. After the Starr report I felt the electorate was polarized, with no one party coming out ahead. But after the release of these tapes, I feel the voters that support Clinton are enraged regarding his treatment, and will not vote republican under any circumstances, and will turn out in large numbers. There will be no republican landslide in November over this. JMO

Well dougjn,

Here's where my somewhat moderate political leanings come into play. I've become convinced we're better off with the Repubs in control of congress(the purse strings) & in order to keep their radical right at bay, putting a democrat in the White House -- it worked out great the past 5 yrs, except for this little bump in the road:o)
I believe there definitely should be obscenity laws of some sort for the internet. There's no place for child pornography anywhere in the world(only creepy perverts would partake of it); in fact, I believe a civilized society would banish pornography of any kind from public view in order to protect children. Besides, it is an insult to women and uses them as objects rather than human beings.

As for abortion, it should remain legal, although partial birth abortions are inhuman.

I believe a time for prayer or meditation or quiet time - whichever the child and her/his parents choose, would be fine in schools. The public schools need some sort of forum to help give children values & character. It's primarily the parents job to do it, but since the kids spend so much time in school, there should be something to remind them to live up to moral & ethical values.

The subject of welfare is complicated. It's so easily abused.

In that area, I believe in providing basic medical care for children & rewarding young women for not having a larger family than they can support. The old way of just adding an additional amount to a welfare check with each new child, only sustained a vicious cycle of welfare families.
