Ciena's DWDM products are still leaders in their fields; for example DDI which is one of three long-distance new common carriers (NCC) approved by the Japanese government to compete against NTT chose Ciena. Also DDI is the third NCC to have chosen CIENA's DWDM products in Japan, and that means all of them selected Ciena; this somehow gives credit to ciena and related proof that competition products such as LU may still be in the works and not as good as Ciena.
