So basically you are seeking volatility by buying <$5 shares. I can appreciate that, but would observe that options provide that same characteristic, but allow you to control exponentially more shares than limiting yourself to buying low priced stocks. They also open investment opportunities to virtually all mid- or large-cap stock. Also, they allow you to play both sides, long and short.

But, alas, the contest does not allow options.
