Avg. Joe:

The point is De Beers has controlled the supply of diamonds and the market is exceedingly vulnerable to a flood of African quality stones cut in Thailand. The price of diamonds in the market place is totally artificial. What percentage of De Beers total assets are diamond dependent?

Sadly The Rise and Fall of Diamonds is no longer in print.

Ciao, Ted
