I don't think anyone in the market thinks the Fed has delayed a policy move one second because of the LTC situation. Their concern appears to have been associated with assuring the continued smooth functioning of the Treasury markets. And if you check their charter that happens to be part of their mandate. The Fed's role in this was exactly what it should be.

And you can characterize Greenspan's commentary as mumbo jumbo all you wish but it is pretty clear that a great number of people understand exactly what he says. There seemed to be little confusion yesterday.
