I've been lurking for a while and learning a bunch from y'all. I do have a few questions. I'm looking to put together a new computer system for home use (kids, wife, small business, portfolio tracking, MM, net access, etc)

Is is better to go with WIN 98 or NT?
Is 64Mb Ram enough for starters?
Is is better to go with one BIG (10 Gb+) HD or is it better to have two smaller ones (say 4 Gb each)? (I get paranoid of HD crashes and loosing all data.)

Thanks...

Sean, Looked at ntinternals (now sysinternals.com ), which I too have found helpful in the past. Didn't find anything useful this time, but then I may not have dug deep enough.

This AM, the problem hasn't recurred--I'll elaborate more when it does.

Thanks,

Dave
