I have spent a lot of time thinking about CIEN being taken over and since their technology is in such great demand it amazes me that TLAB decided against it. NYTimes did an excellent article on the merger and they made it seem like CIEN was not very up front with TLAB concerning the lost contract with ATT. What I got out of all of it was TLAB must have been really pissed off about the whole thing or else they would have tried to buy at a lower price. They just gave up on CIEN and that frightens me. I agree with those who say CIEN has a technology that is extremely important and it scares me when I don't see companies like CSCO or ASND breaking down doors to get a chance to buy this company. I think there is more to it. The downside does seem limited and the reward could be glorious so I am going to hold until I hear something that makes me believe a merger is not going to happen in the near term.

Just my thoughts.
