Exactly--it says to me that Mel's in control and Mel is the only one of the bunch that has demonstrated he can make money. The one irrational fear I have is that Wall Street is/has recognized that this is/has become Mel's operation and if some misfortune happens to him, we will tank.

ALL: I agree with the statement that the Telenoticias deal is the handy work of Mel K, and the Discovery deal also. So what we have is
Jordan and Reynolds playing switcharoo with the assets and then Mel K has to come in and clear up the mess that they leave behind? That does not fly!
I belive that it is time for both Jordan and a bunch of the directors
to be removed from office - these guys have no experience in Media
and we have a case of the blind leading the blind. Now if Jordan is a fair minded person he will recognise this andwill have taken the following actions. 1. The radio IPO will be changed to a distribution
to shareholders, 2. The deal has already been done with TWX - and we will get .25 of a TWX share for each CBS share.
Overall progress is being made Mr. J Klein has left the employ of CBS
he is the guy that gave the interview to NBC about 6 months ago.
Now there are some others that could be considered for cost savings.
Gumbel - and Rather now if you save their salaries it would represent the .01 cent that our earnings were off last qtr.
I used to live in New Orleans and this Hurricane looks likeit will hit the mouth of the Mississippi - this could be awful for the
Big Easy. God help the people survive this storm.
John
P.S. More progress - Mel just fired the GM of KCBS in LA. and the
GM of the Miami station also got the golden good bye. Apparently
they did not meet the sales goals - ther is nothing like getting the message out that performance is the key and if you donot perform you do not work here.
