I always start the day at 0 on the TICK. I don't know if you are referring to the 1400 point run down from yesterday's close or not. I am mainly looking at the intra-day movements and I noticed this 1200 point deal a while back. Has to be 1200 points within an hour to hour and half. Have not back tested it or researched it any further than the orignal notation of it, but since then it has appeared to work on many occassions. The hard part is I have no way of knowing...till after the fact, what the new high of the day is, so from a practical standpoint it is still very difficult. However, it does give one an indication that a substantial move might occur and if you can pinpoint the where that is good.
