A.Kiri,
I don't see any of these reads as contradicting each other. For the most part Jim Prokop's readings undulate... which I suspect Fred's Carpino does too. All I basically need to know is that I'm not going to have a 5 day week of bullish mkt while I'm holding puts or vice versa. While Jim sees Monday as down , he sees the rest of the week as higher ... with some significant down days in October... but lots of variation - just what I like !

Bev

edit: just convinced myself I needed to stock up on puts. am now ready for it all

Kiri--the way that I would read Iqbal's post is that the pits are looking for a strong rally next week--as opposed to Monday. I know he said Monday and I am interpreting his remarks--and he can correct me if I am wrong.

I say this because when he gave me his projection for 80 that the pits were looking at earlier this week --he said that they were looking for it to happen by next week but it occurred within a day or two of his saying it. Similarly his projection of it going down to 40 after that was dead on--though in this instance he did not offer a time frame.

What I am trying to say is that the lows for Monday or Tuesday are not necessarily contradictory to what he is saying is the view of the pits. May be we see a strong down day on Monday/Tuesday and then a huge intra-day reversal.
