Hi Thomas,

Did you previously reside in Calgary, Thomas ?? Or is the Tom Radcliffe that I know only a namesake ??

I have experience in oil and gas and after 32 years I hope some knowledge was also acquired. However, I (like most people) still learn every day and sometimes it is the hard way!!

I am interpreting your question as being "Who invokes 'tight hole status' on a well ?". The answer to that is that it is usually the operator of the drilling activity but theoretically it could be any one of the parties to the joint operating agreement which governs the operation.

If that is not the intent of your question could you please rephrase it and I'll try again.

As you may know, tight hole status is usually invoked when the participants in a discovery well intend to make an effort to acquire more land on the "play".
