Don't be a weenie and whine about "group-think". Put up a fight for your silly opinions. It's part of The Cure. And you were beginning to show some progress....

Melinda, not entirely group think here. I remember those Watergate hearings. How I used to hoot every time Henry Hyde opened his mouth. Ever the loyalist even when presented with overwhelming facts. If ever I had to have guessed who would be there today from then, he would have been way down the list. I was shocked he was re-elected the following year - and every 2 years since.

How I yearn today for Barbara Jordan who displayed such probity in those partisan times. It was such a pleasure to hear her speak. Lord, the hypocrisy of Henry Hyde loyalist extraordinaire muttering the words bi-partisan while talking in the same sentence about moral values is exceedingly surreal. At least we know God has a sense of humor.

Melinda,
I don't know enough about Henry Hyde to either defend or condemn him-(I'm really not very politically knowledgeable). I just don't think he has anything to do with anything---guilty or not. Living with teenagers has taught me to ignore a lot of the smokescreens and diversionary tactics that people use trying to get the heat off themselves. I was trying to factor that into the Democrats' efforts. I have no doubts that the Republicans would do exactly the same.

Please don't refrain from expressing your thoughts!! I think everyone here is very open to all viewpoints and WANTS to hear them- except for Freddy, of course. Well, he wants to hear them so he can argue with you.

<Favorite boxer....Smokin Joe...Frasier.>

Taht's "Frazier".

My favorite was The Bleeder, Jerry Quarry. Though Ali in his prime was the best ever.
