It's obvious from your post that you're not familiar with the facts in this case nor are you familiar with the Constitution! You're also apparently not familiar with the duties and responsibilities Congress is sworn to do when they are sworn into office so why bother answering your post. It would require quiet a bit of education for you. You have ONLY ONE VOTE so cast it for your favorite Democrat and remain in the minority for a long time to come!

<<Ken Starr is certain to go down in history as every bit as bad a disaster as Joe McCarthy was>>

Perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, but there is some of the same flavor. Get your quarry at any cost. Respect no bounds of privacy or decorum. Assume and darkly predict that a lapse of any sort is proof of a deep and metastasizing rot, that if not rooted out in the glare of vengeful publicity, will surely corrupt the moral and legal fabric of the country. And the like.

<<Let's face it... who hasn't had sex with someone at work?>>

Well, ahem, lets say who hasn't ever thought about it?

To me the real point along those lines is the sex sinning, and sex lying, is predictive of very little else. Except perhaps adherence, or rejection, of the credos of the religious right. Which perhaps has something to do with their vehemence on the subject. (Though we all know there is a lot of hypocrisy on that front.)

You just recited the White House mantra. Having left no myth out, you follow orders well.

You are way off base, Marty. I'll have to answer each point individually.

Maybe what the Republicans really want to do is what the Chinese did in the Cultural Revolution. Remember those pictures of men with dunce caps on and placards around their necks getting marched through the streets past jeering crowds? This hypocritical holier-than-thou hounding is despicable!

No. They don't want that. They think Clinton is a joke as president. They want the American people to agree. No hypocrisy, no holier than thou. Just that he's a joke.

Ken Starr is certain to go down in history as every bit as bad a disaster as Joe McCarthy was. Turns out now that Monica Lewinsky's testimony that Clinton never asked her to lie and that he never tried to get her a job to influence her testimony never made it into his final report!

Starr will not go down as a McCarthy. That's ridiculous. Monica's statement was in fact in the report. This was a lie by the White House that went misreported. (And I thought you told me you were not ignorant?)

Let's face it... who hasn't had sex with someone at work?

You should have asked about sex with extreme subordinates. In that case, very few people have that poor judgment.

Who hasn't lied about sex?

Lot's of people. Under oath, even fewer.

Ever have anyone ever try to interrogate you on the details under penalty of perjury?

No, I have never been accused in a court sanctioned action of sexual harassment.

Name any politician that hasn't tried to get a job for someone ... for any reason.

This has nothing to do with sexual blackmail.

As a point of fact, every single civil case has lies in it and liars testifying. Everybody shades things as they see it and want it to appear. Think Starr never lied, or withheld things or shaded things a bit when he represented tobacco companies?

So back to the "everybody does it" defense.

Of all the things that are really bizarre here it is taping a friend while you are trying to entrap them. Anybody on this thread ever done THAT?

Big deal. So what? How else could the evidence have been collected against the WH law breaker?

Is Starr going to be as diligent going after his witness Linda Tripp with the same ah, enthusiasm, as he has Clinton? This case would have been thrown out and Starr fired in any other DA office.

Not true. Standard investigative procedures were used. There is no reason to go after Tripp. He was hired by the AG to go after Clinton.

Now Henry Hyde wants to consider all things relative to whether Clinton is fit to be President. Who asked him to try to overturn the election? Who gave him and his Republican dominated committee the right or the authority to determine who is fit or not? What will THAT attempt do to separation of powers concept in the future?

Who? The founding fathers, that's who. He has a constitutional duty to look into this matter. It's his job. What do you want him to do with it now, just drop it? Get real.

I have before but I will NEVER vote for a Republican again for as long as I live! They should, and I think they will, reap a backlash for what they have done to the Constitution and the Presidency.

Please. You have proven you are not worthy to vote for republicans. You have been spun by the dems to vote for dems. Enjoy.
