Maxwell - Re: "At $100 ASP there is good money to be made for AMD. Can't wait till the PII-400 drops to $100."

Last quarter, AMD had an ASP of $85 for their K6 and K6-2. AMD lost $105,000,000 before tax credits.

At an ASP of $100 - 3.5 million K6-x's will net an additional $52.5 million [ (= 100 - 85) * 3,500,00 ].

AMD should still produce a loss on operations of $50+ Million - before AMD gets a break from us honest tax payers - who make a profit.

Re: "Can't wait till the PII-400 drops to $100. I will then buy one for display."

At that point, the K6-2 400 MHz will sell for $75 and I'll consider buying one as a paper weight.
