Paul,

There is one small problem with your equation:

At an ASP of $100 - 3.5 million K6-x's will net an additional $52.5 million [ (= 100 - 85) * 3,500,00 ].

AMD should still produce a loss on operations of $50+ Million - before AMD gets a break from us honest tax payers - who make a profit.

You forgot to reduce costs as a result of the switch from .35 to .25... This is ofcourse assuming that all of AMD's other businesses stay at the same level and don't improve or worsen.

And one other thing:

Re: "Can't wait till the PII-400 drops to $100. I will then buy one for display."

At that point, the K6-2 400 MHz will sell for $75 and I'll consider buying one as a paper weight.

Too light.. you should buy the PII-400, support Intel. Besides with the packaging and heat sink it would do a much better job..
