Sonki. German election ousted the present chancellor Kohl. I am not quite sure how everything will go. There are quite a few parties and it depends on who the "SPD" will make an alliance with. Worrisome thing is that the so-called reformed Communist party received 5% of the vote. I am quite sure that most of that vote came from Eastern Germany which used to be the Communist East Germany after the war. The way I hear it, because of that 5% Communist vote, the newly elected party will try an alliance with the current governing party.

The present GOV lost because of very high unemployment and I think the unwillingness of the current GOV to have more tax reforms. Our President should heed that outcome as far as taxes are concerned. Tax cuts could probably have stimulated the economy more. People generally like it better when money goes back to taxpayers instead of the GOV spending it all solely on other things. Saving Soc.Sec. is a great election campaign tool. I have not seen any action yet so pl. give me a tax cut. Reform of death penalty, marriage penalty and being able to earn a bit more money after you receive Soc.Sec. looks better to me than having it sit on the Hill. gg.

Anyhow, we will have to see how the change of GOV in Germany will affect SAP and the like. Talk is that he wants to revive the economy and bring the unemployment down. Let's see how he goes about that. Not much else we can say or do.

At this point I am more worried about this LTC thing. What else lurks out there? There will be some Gov.hearings now. Last I heard that Fund lost a lot more than originally thought. I am sure that Mr. Greenspan and Company will cut the rate. The big guys generally get bailed out even though I believe in a rate cut. Looks funny though while that particular failure is around now. Big Banks have no problem loaning on risky things. Would be nice if they felt the same way when it comes to housing. You practically have to go back to your birth before they lend unless you have money. I guess that's ok but pl. have the same standard when it comes to helping the big guys out with big money for risky things.

The Globex futures did not look that great very early this morning. Maybe I check it quick and post it. Heaven help us all if more Hedge Funds go bust. gg. Here is the Globex. Does not look worse than this morning so the elections in Germany have not made it worse, so far at least.

BTW, I checked my Yahoo quick and came upon this article about the elections in Germany. The net makes things at our fingertips in one big hurry.

I don't know what's happening but I can't get the links transferred. I try again in a minute.

This article seems to echo my sentiments.

Sonki. Correction. The net puts things at our fingertips in a hurry. gg. It would be nice if it could make things too. Like make all our stocks go up tomorrow.

Got to go back to my football game.

Sonki. Where are you hiding? WCOM. Interesting article. I have not seen the stock reacting to it very much. All the other internet stocks are on fire though and WCOM is on the net due to UUNET. We should see a nice pop in our stock soon. Here we go again - I hope you still own WCOM?
