Then why is Slot 1 outselling the K6/K6-2 by more than 4 to 1 ?

By any measure, Slot 1 is a runaway success.

Unless you characterize success as a huge loss - in which case the K6 is a huge success.

What system vendors will announce benchmarks of K7 system performance on that day?
