I'm not trying to impress you. I'm not trying to impress Joe. And I'm not a professional typist so errors may occur.

I've had my share of gains and losses.... fortunately more gains. Anyway, I don't think this has become the R.E.B. critique board yet so personal attacks on me will serve no purpose - but if you enjoy it, go ahead.

If you think that my critique is off balanced then watch CNBC monday morning, as I will, and observe. Joe is not my only concern, it just seems like so many people are in love with Joe, that they react strongly when he is criticized.

Are you his self-appointed defender? That's O.K. with me. I will continue my critique of CNBC and I will address Joe's performance in detailed analysis, point by point, the good and the bad, Monday evening after viewing Squawk Box and the Edge. I will tape the shows to make sure my assessment is accurate.

You can then defend your precious Joe all you want.

Additional critique:

I don't especially like the news by Alena Chow (I don't know the exact spelling of her name). It has nothing to do with her as I believe she does an excellent job. Its just that they give her 30 seconds to give the news and then she says "now your up to date"...... how can I be up to date after 30 seconds of news.....??? ¿¿¿

I guess that's all the time they have for her but they should give her more and Kathleen less.

R.E.B.

I think Joe is one of the best features on CNBC. If you look at his profile you can see he received a masters in molecular biology from MIT. No matter how he comes off, this is one high powered guy. As a physician, I am often impressed at how easily he explains complex scientific developements in the biotech companies with such clarity. As someone who often has to explain complex biological concepts to my co workers such as nurses, hospital administrators and others, I can tell you that you have to know the subject extremely well in order to explain it. I have often wondered with the high powered background that Joe has, why he chose the path he did. I wonder if the guy burned out. I guess, because I burned out, that is why I identify with him. Joe impresses me as the kind of guy who takes life as it comes and who doesn't compromise a whole lot. He comes across to me as having nothing left to prove. Recently I attended a funeral and one of the people who was there asked me who could eulogize me if I died. I said Joe Kernan. They protested and said, "but he doesn't even know you!".
I replied that I was sure that no matter what Joe said it would be timely, relevant, funny and to the point.
