So you doubt that if you ask God with an open mind and heart, and you approach him truly seeking the truth, he will tell you the truth? You are saying he might not tell you the truth? Not at all. I'm just saying that the majority of people who do what you suggest will end up simply believing what they want to believe. We should use our minds and not our hearts to determine truth (Isaiah 1:18 "Come Let us Reason Together.")
