>>The Wright ruling makes it pretty clear that Paula Jones didn't suffer sexual harassment since she suffered no bad (enough) consequences for turning Clinton down.

The Wright ruling will be overturned (barring settlement on Jone's terms) for a couple of reasons:

1) The Flowers and Lewinsky revelations have subsequently proved that Jones did suffer in comparison with those who complied.

2) Clinton clearly perjured himself. The Judge may direct a verdict for Jones.

>>Actually, I am relieved that the sexual harassment laws are not as broad as I feared.

3) They are broader. The recent SC ruling lowered the bar for establishing sexual harassment.

Those are the reasons Clinton wants to settle. Jones may want to settle even though her prospects for victory look excellent, since her recovery may be far below the $1 million she demands. Though the court could order her attorney's fees considering Clinton's perjury.
