I looked at this website. Interesting. It is a vast improvement over the other sites where the authors deliberately misrepresent every aspect of Islam to impress their followers. If I were a Christian I would strongly oppose this tactic. It looks like the authors are trying to create a virtual lynch mob atmosphere. This is unwarranted persecution of Muslims. I hope that when you've gotten further along in your discussion with Raymond you will be able to put your finger on the real differences between the religions. Then, maybe you could present a website from the Christian perspective on the real differences between the religions. Or, encourage the sponsors of these propaganda sites to get real.

I agree with you the site you referenced is not anti-Islam like the other sites you've listed. The author attempts to be objective here. The only problem is he's not totally successful. To be totally objective he would have to present Islam and Islamic history so that Muslims would have no disagreement and non-Muslims could learn about the history and culture. I just took a quick peek but found, there are some fundamental oversights. Some of the information he presents as factual would not be agreed to by any Muslim for example, he defines Rasul Allah as a messenger of God. Yes Muslims believe that. Then he goes on to say such a messenger brings, "an entirely new and revivifying message to humanity." Whoops. Also, even though he does a fairly close job of hitting the events of Islamic history he is not careful about recognizing the Islamic perspective and presents a typical Judiao-Christian account. For example, he attributes things to Muhammad, that Muhammad would have attributed to God. He could have easily framed his presentation that way without condoning it.

You don't need to respond. I respect your focus on the study you are doing with Raymond.

<<So are they lying too, Washington State University?>>

Yes. If they are standing behind this website as factual and unbiased.
