Ed, in online trading today if someone were to mistype a
.015 buy order as 0.15 you can be sure it will be filled by
the MM's. I have seen this happen on several other threads.
I have also seen where the investor, after realizing what
had happened, contacted his online broker and the broker
was able to get the transaction changed. But some don't
know to call their broker and also some broker's may not
go to bat for the investor. It's easy to make this kind
of mistake if you get in a hurry. At E*Trade after I
enter my order, I get another "confirmation of order"
screen before it is actually placed. This is one place
all investors should slow down and really read the order
before placing. It could be disastrous to one's portfolio.
Regards
Dan
