hha....i've heard of bottom fishing, but you are an artist. I would like to buy them lower, but, then, unless they are at zero, I always want to buy them lower.

Mike, First let me say I appreciate the time you took on a lengthy post. Also, there is a strong tendency to not pay for anything that comes over the internet. I know I follow that route intensely. <G> Not an entire loss. Internet Brokerages and Porn seem to doing OK from everything I read, but I don't know how to invest in porn <g>. That leaves me with internet brokers or businesses benefitting from internet trading. (BTW, Someone mentioned Knight/Trimark (NITE) here a while ago. They're a MM for many of the leading internet brokerages. I have a few shares) BTW, regarding internet content, when is SI going to start cutting you a check?<g> I see no long term upside for internet firms that rely on advertising to make money. Net advertising simply doens't work. I agree totally for now. As higher bandwidth allows more TV-esque adverts this may begin to work better though. From a business perspective, to me it seems the Net is best utilized as a tool to communicate with customers, but not necessarily for closing consumer transactions. Companies that use the internet to enhance _service_ through the net can gain through customer satisfaction improvement. IMHO. On the internet side, I see problems over the long haul for Cisco and Lucent. Do you not see bandwidth demand growing more rapidly than they can supply it? It seems like these guys are sitting right in the bottleneck. Is in not like they say about highway construction:" You can't build enough roads. The more roads you build the worse the traffic gets."<g> I see a lot of upside for those who supply the guts to the internet players: security, financial checks, speed boosts, even site development.
